My Darlings,
Today I am sharing our experience and unforgettable trip to Santa Claus Holiday Village — a place that truly brought my Christmas dreams to life. From snowy adventures to magical encounters, this journey was everything I ever imagined and more.
Our Magical Journey to Santa Claus Holiday Village — A Christmas Lover’s Dream
Visiting Santa Claus Holiday Village in Rovaniemi has been nothing short of a dream come true. As someone who adores Christmas and all its magic, I found myself completely enchanted by the atmosphere, the snow, the cozy lights, and the joyful spirit that seems to live all year round at this unique spot on the Arctic Circle.
🎄 First Impressions: A Christmas Wonderland Year-Round
From the moment we arrived, it felt like stepping into a Christmas postcard — snow-covered cabins, twinkling lights, cheerful holiday decorations everywhere, and a sense that the Christmas spirit never really leaves here. The village is designed to embody the warmth, charm and traditions of Lapland, with wintery landscapes, cultural touches, and the possibility to meet the legendary man himself, Santa Claus.
We crossed the famous Arctic Circle line — a symbolic moment that made the whole experience feel even more magical and real.
ACCOMODATION:
🍽️ Dining at the 3 Main Restaurants
During our stay, we tried the three main restaurants recommended for visitors. Each offered a distinct ambience and taste of Lapland’s hospitality.
Christmas House Restaurant & Coffee Bar
With a warm, festive mood, it felt like dining inside a classic holiday home. We enjoyed a generous buffet lunch, filled with hearty and comforting dishes — perfect after a frosty walk around the village. The fact that the same building houses the Santa meeting area made it even more special.
Three Elves, located in the main lobby building of the Village, offered us à la carte dishes and a relaxed, friendly environment. The restaurant was ideal for dinner after a long day of exploring; the food was good, service friendly, and the ambience — with soft lighting and cosy decor — matched perfectly the overall Christmas vibe of the village.
For a more intimate and quieter meal, we tried Santa’s Cuisine Restaurant, tucked away among the cottages. This spot felt more secluded and peaceful — a nice contrast to the livelier main buildings. The food was lovely and suited the wintery setting, making it a comfortable retreat after outdoor adventures.
Each restaurant added something different to the experience — from buffet comfort and festive buzz to calm, homey meals.
We had the chance to try the dinner in a Glass Igloo and it was absolutely magical! Nestled on the terrace of the Three Elves restaurant, the igloo offered an unforgettable, private dining experience. In winter, we watched the darkening sky and, with a bit of luck, even glimpsed the northern lights dancing above — an incredible, almost surreal moment.
🐾 Adventures: Reindeer, Huskies — and Meeting Santa
What really made the trip unforgettable were the magical activities and the chance to immerse ourselves in Lapland traditions.
- Reindeer sleigh ride: We took a classic reindeer ride through the snowy forest inside the village. Gliding quietly through the snow-covered paths pulled by gentle Arctic reindeer was surreal — like a scene from a fairy tale. It’s exactly the kind of experience I’d imagined as a kid.
- Husky ride: We also tried a husky ride — a thrilling, different kind of adventure compared to the calm reindeer sleigh. The energy of the huskies, the crisp cold air, and the snowy landscape made the ride an adrenaline-plus-magic moment.
- Meeting Santa Claus: And then, of course — we met Santa himself. It felt whimsical and heartwarming: meeting the legend of Christmas in his own home, exchanging a few words, and believing — just for a moment — in pure Christmas magic.
These experiences combined — nature, animals, tradition, magic — made the visit more than a holiday: it felt like stepping into the world I had always imagined when I dreamed of Christmas.
✨ Why Santa Claus Holiday Village Is a Must for Christmas Lovers
- It brings Christmas magic all year round: Even outside winter, the village maintains a festive and cozy Christmas vibe, which for someone like me — who loves Christmas — is priceless.
- Diverse dining experiences: The three restaurants we tried catered to different moods — buffet comfort, cosy intimacy, or laid-back meals — giving variety to the stay.
- Unique Lapland adventures: Reindeer sleigh rides, husky rides, and meeting Santa make the trip more than sightseeing — it becomes a full-on immersive experience of Arctic Christmas traditions.
- Family-friendly but enchanting for adults too: The vibe is warm, welcoming and magical whether you travel with kids, friends, or as a couple.
